Modern and good-looking extension of bridges
GRP composite panels enable modernization and expansion of bridges without reinforcing their steel structure, thanks to the low weight of the panels. The technology of their production allows for quick installation and requires no maintenance at a later time of use, thus saving time and money. Composite panels also mean user safety.
Prefabrication and installation of 7200m2 of GRP panels forming a pedestrian and mobile route on the renovated Jozef Piłsudzki Bridge in Toruń. The poject has been completed in cooperation with Fibrolux Gmbh ordered by INTOP Warsaw.
Our task was to produce elements of the pedestrian route, consisting of several GRP panels, to create a two-colour abrasion-resistant layer and to install the pedestrian route panels forming the pedestrian and mobile route on the modernized Jozef Piłsudski Bridge in Toruń.
The technology used made it possible to expand the so-called shelves on which pedestrian and bicycle routes are located up to 4.2 m, which allowed for separation of pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the bridge. Such widening of the pedestrian routes provided for greater bridge capacity and increased its safety.
An additional task was to make composite drainage elements and to connect them to drainage pipes, thus enabling effective drainage of rainwater from the bridge.
Ignacy Mościcki Bridge in Puławy - modernization of pedestrian routes.
Our task was to replace the pedestrian route. The old concrete sidewalk was replaced with lightweight composite panels. We covered them with safe grey-coloured abrasion-resistant surface. The task was a part of a comprehensive bridge modernization started in 2018.
It is an innovative solution that ensures mobility and safety.
Our staircases made of GRP provide quick assembly at the customer's site, because their large modules are assembled in production rooms, and their lightweight design allows transport in a complete form to the customer's site, limiting the assembly time as well as the scope of works at the site to a minimum.
TWS staircases consist of structural GRP profiles, walking platforms made of GRP gratings, complete railing systems also made entirely of composite profiles as well as GRP stair steps with a difficult-to-remove non-slip safety-edges ensuring the safety of people using the staircase.
Composite is a heterogeneous material composed of two or more materials. The GRP (FRP – Fiber Reinforced Plastics) composite is a fiberglass-based composite consisting of fiberglass impregnated with polyester or vinyl ester resins. This combination makes a very strong, chemically resistant material that is ideally suited for structural purposes!
GRP composites come in a variety of forms, gaining wider and wider range of applications in the construction, mining, automotive, chemical, aerospace, transportation and many other industries. Composite structures are successfully replacing steel structures on a wide scale.
